Mr. Pitera holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, New Jersey. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Mr. Pitera is a member of the International Code Council (ICC), the Snow and Ice Management Association (SIMA) and Common Ground Alliance Best Practices Committee.

Mr. Pitera is an ICC Certified Residential Building Inspector and an ICC Certified Residential Mechanical Inspector. He is also an RCS Building Inspector in New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Pitera’s professional experience includes engineering investigations and evaluations of design and construction elements related to civil and safety engineering, including but not limited to: walkways, stairways, roadways and building construction. His work also includes civil and safety engineering analyses related to OSHA and building code compliance, and accident evaluation cause and origin analysis.

Prior to joining AEL Mr. Pitera served as a Project Engineer in the New Jersey area. His work included the design and oversight of highway construction and civil site work, including but not limited to: utility relocation, roadside safety elements, earthwork, pavement systems, grading, site drainage, lighting, sidewalks, multi-use pathways, handicapped access, traffic control and staging, construction cost estimates, permitting, specifications and soil erosion and sediment control. Mr. Pitera also served as an engineering representative for multi-million dollar utility relocation projects.
